The World’s Gone Pear Shaped uses humour as an entry point to looking at anxieties, both on a global scale and on a personal level. The piece serves as a hopeful reminder that despite going pear shaped things can still be fruitful.
The World’s Gone Pear Shaped was first exhibited in my solo exhibition at MARS Gallery in May 2022.
In June 2022, the piece was presented atop the Shepparton Art Museum as part of White Night Festival.
In September 2022, it was curated into the AMPLIFY sculpture presentation at Carriageworks as part of Sydney Contemporary.
In January 2024, it was presented at Bundoora Homestead, as a finalist in the Darebin Art Prize.
In January 2025, it was invited to be installed for a day overlooking the Mornington Peninsula.
From December 2025 until February 2026, the artwork is presented in Gippsland Art Gallery, as part of the group exhibition Synchron City, curated by Cassie May.
